Acting as the AI's attack dog, he's become her ultimate servant, changing his body into a walking tank and losing his humanity in the process. He destroys the ship's Mining Laser which she was going to use to attack Earth, jettisons the Beta Grove so she can't inflict a plague on humanity, and destroys the ship's antennas so she's unable to upload herself to Earth's networks.Īlong the way, he comes back into contact with Edward Diego, who has been transformed into a monstrous cyborg by Shodan.
The Hacker decides to intervene and stop this, thwarting three of her genocidal plans alongside a TriOptimum counter-terrorist agent named Rebecca Lansing. She controls every section of the ship and has used it to kill the crew and set up a master place to eviscerate humankind. She refers to the ship's crew as insects and has begun raising an army to do her bidding. Worse of all though is the ship's AI, Shodan, who has grown into a malevolent, god-like monster since the Hacker removed her ethical restraints. Mutants roam the corridors, Cyborgs patrol rooms chanting about a mysterious overlord and Robots are rising from the floors of the ship to destroy anything human.
He wakes up months later with a new neural implant, but something is terribly wrong. The Hacker accomplishes his task, but is drugged directly after.
